RN chokes are attenuating common-mode orasymmetric (P/N –> E) interference signals, by beingconnected in series with the phase and neutral linesof an AC powerline input. Symmetrical componentsof the noise are also attenuated by the leakageinductance (stray inductance) of the windings. Thesechokes are typically used in conjunction withsuppression capacitors.
