ENPIRION DC-DC Converters
Enpirion is a provider of highly integrated power management solutions, and leverages advances in Power Semiconductor Devices and CMOS-compatible Magnetics to deliver the world's rst complete DC-DC conversion in an IC package.
Enpirion solutions reduce footprint by up to 70%, reduce parts count by as much as 60%, and dramatically ease the design constraints associated with switch-mode DC-DC converters.
Enpirion makes the industry's smallest Power System on Silicon (PSoS) - the rst ultra-integrated all-silicon DC-to-DC converter, and the rst to feature an integrated inductor. Enpirion's patented approach capitalizes on semiconductor
geometry advances that enable a 10x switching-frequency improvement - integrating a PWM controller, power FETs, compensation circuitry, and magnetic components into a single turnkey IC package.
Enpirion manufactures a growing line of Switch-mode DC-DC converters with integrated inductor. Integration of the inductor sets Enpirion products apart from the competition. The layout and placement of the inductor is one of the most
common reasons for power IC related failures. Enpirion solves this problem, reduces foot print, reduces part count, and reduces noise associated with switch-mode power conversion. Applications include high volume consumer products
such as mobile phones, portable game players, MP3 and personal media players, as well as data networking, telecoms, user terminal equipment such as set top box, and of course notebook and desktop PC.
